MESA – Martha Ann Jones passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. She was called to heaven after a courageous 7 year battle with ovarian cancer. Born June 17, 1959 in Santa Monica, CA, Martha was raised in Chandler, AZ. She attended Basha Elementary and graduated from Chandler High School in 1977 where she was a member of the pom & dance line. In 1983 she was hired by Tempe-based America West Airlines where she graduated in flight attendant Class 1 and traveled the world for 13 years. After leaving the airline she worked as an administra­tive assistant in the Chandler Unified School District, serving the communitie­s of Jacobson Elementary and Willis Jr. High. Martha was a devoted mother of 3 daughters and loved spending time with her family. She was known for her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, amazing dance skills, and giving and sincere nature. Martha was a true social butterfly who enjoyed going to concerts, watching movies, getting together for happy hours, hiking, and running 5K races with her many friends. She was a pillar of strength to all those who knew her and lived her life as an example of pure joy. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Alexandria, Diandra, and Miranda; her sister Lucy (Martin), brothers David, Paul, John (Patti), and various nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Adela, her brother George, and her father George Sr. A visitation will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ on November 5th, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N.
