SUN LAKES – Charles E. Olson, age 90, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away on October 26, 2018. Charles (Chuck) was born in Holmen, WI, to the late Lynn O. and Alice J. Olson. He graduated from Holmen High School in 1946 and entered the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Japan during the postwar occupation. After discharge, he was united in marriage to Carol Price. Chuck and Carol then moved to Decorah, IA, where Chuck attended Luther College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

Chuck was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, working his way up to Manager of the Bulk Mail Processing Center in Cincinnati, OH. After retirement, he and Carol moved to Sun Lakes, AZ.

Chuck was an accomplish­ed athlete and enjoyed many sports throughout his life. He played on his high school and college basketball, baseball and football teams, and also enjoyed a lifelong love of golf. He was an avid outdoorsma­n, hunter, trapper, fisherman and bird watcher. He was an Explorer Scout leader, and headed many expedition­s to the north woods, boundary waters and Canada. Chuck had a beautiful baritone voice, and sang in a barbershop quartet and chorus. He served on the Holmen School Board and was a volunteer fireman for many years. He also belonged to many organizati­ons, including the American Legion and Lions Club.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Carol; three daughters, Martha (Donald) Johnson of Onalaska, WI, Elizabeth (Thomas) Fiebelkorn of Trempealea­u, WI, and Karlyn Neubauer of Chandler, AZ; four grandchild­ren, Adrien (Katie) Johnson, Daisy (Chris) Boehm, Eric (Kathy) Neubauer, and Adam Neubauer; three great-grandchild­ren, Aspen, Brooks, and Haakon Johnson; one brother, Larry (Mary) Olson; one sister, Ruth (Brandt) Werner; a sister-in-law, Marilyn (Gene) Olson; one aunt, Dolores Carr; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Gene (Marilyn) Olson, and his sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and John Rem.
