Michigan routs ’Nova in title game rematch
Charles Matthews scored 19 points, Ignas Brazdeikis had 18 and No. 18 Michigan (3-0) beat host No. 8 Villanova (2-1) 73-46 in a national championship game rematch Wednesday night.
Villanova captured its second title in three years with a 79-62 victory over Michigan in April but was completely overmatched in the second game at its newly renovated Pavilion.
Eric Paschall scored 10 points and Phil Booth had nine for the Wildcats.
No. 1 Duke 84, Eastern Michigan 46: Zion Williamson scored 21 points, fellow freshman RJ Barrett added 20 and host Duke (3-0) routed Eastern Michigan (3-1) in its first game this season as the nation’s top-ranked team.
Javin DeLaurier and Jack White added 10 points apiece for the Blue Devils.
No. 9 Auburn 103, Mississippi College 52: Austin Wiley scored 18 points and host Auburn (3-0) scored 35 consecutive points during a second-half stretch in a victory over Mississippi College (1-2).
Bryce Brown added 16 points for the Tigers, who went on a scoring tear of dunks, 3-pointers and fast-break baskets after the Division II Choctaws briefly threatened to make it close.
No. 10 Kentucky 96, North Dakota 58: PJ Washington set career highs with 25 points and seven rebounds, Tyler Herro added 18 points and Kentucky rolled over North Dakota.
No. 11 Michigan State 80, LouisianaMonroe 59: Cassius Winston scored 14 of his 23 points in the opening minutes of the second half, bouncing back from a rough start to help host Michigan State (2-1) beat Louisiana-Monroe (2-2).
No. 19 Clemson 74, Sam Houston State 59: Marcquise Reed had a seasonhigh 26 points and host Clemson (3-0) used a second-half surge to put away pesky Sam Houston State (2-2).
Indiana 96, No. 24 Marquette 73: Romeo Langford scored 22 points, Evan Fitzner added 16 and Indiana locked down on defense to beat Marquette.
USC 95, Stetson 59: Nick Rakocevic had 16 points and 13 rebounds – his third double-double in as many games – and USC routed Stetson when Bennie Boatwright made his season debut.

No. 3 Oregon 88, Utah State 58: Ruthy Hebard had 20 points and eight rebounds, Sabrina Ionescu added 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Oregon beat Utah State.
No. 8 Oregon State 89, ArkansasPine Bluff 33: Destiny Slocum had 15 points and 11 assists as Oregon State routed Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
No. 9 Maryland 69, George Washington 30: Brianna Fraser scored 16 points, Taylor Mikesell added 13 and Kaila Charles had 12 as Maryland curised over George Washington.
