“It'll be the longest but fastest minutes of our lives.”

- Albina Habrle Area director, Fred Astaire Dance Studio

than 22 years, is performing with her friend, "Dancing With the Stars" pro Tony Dovolani, who has just taken a leadership role in the studio.

"It's very special for us to be a part of this production. I haven't actually performed in a parade before and I can't even imagine being there and feeling the energy of the people. It'll be the longest but fastest minutes of our lives," she says.

Fred Astaire Dance Studios was established 1947 in New York and has since turned into a global network aiming to embody the grace and style of its namesake whose partners included Leslie Caron, Petula Clark, Judy Garland, and, of course, Ginger Rogers.

The group of 60 trained professional dancers met two weeks ago in Florida to rehearse the nostalgic and refined number that's set to a medley of Astaire's songs. While each pair is meticulous and polished, they must scrub their individual flair from the dance floor to make a unified and singular number.

"In ballroom dance there's so many different styles and in this particular project we have top dancers from different branches and styles coming together. Each brings their own strength to the production," Habrle says. "We hope to deliver it remotely close to what he did because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Briana Santiago Ustymovych, who owns the Paradise Valley studio, said she grew up watching the parade and she and her husband, Igor, are thrilled to show off their skills. As the parents of a 3-month-old daughter, this is the longest they've been away from their child.

"Being a first-time mom, you get kind of scared thinking if you'll be able to perform again or compete," she says. "It's no longer just me and my partner, my husband, and I didn't think opportunities like this would come my way. It makes me feel really proud and honored to be a part of this. I feel like I've reached a successful point in my professional career to be here."

Santiago Ustymovych has never performed in a parade before and this certainly sets the bar high.

"I always watched parades at home but this is such a prestigious one to actually be in. It's the creme de la creme of parades," she said.
