PANTHERS 3, Sabres 2 (OT): Aleksander Barkov scored at 2:26 of overtime to lead the Panthers past the Sabres. It was the second loss in as many days for the Sabres, whose 10-game winning streak ended with a 5-4 loss Thursday in Tampa Bay. Barkov made the most of a wideopen net against an out-of-position Linus Ullmark, who had stopped 40 of 42 shots before the game winner. James Reimer stopped 20 of 22 shots for Florida.

CAPITALS 6, Devils 3: Tom Wilson scored again before being ejected, Nicklas Backstrom had a hat trick and the Capitals beat the Devils to extend the defending Stanley Cup champions’ winning streak to seven games. Wilson scored his seventh goal in nine games since coming back from a lengthy suspension, extending his career-best goal streak to five games and point streak to seven.

Ducks 2, HURRICANES 1 (OT): Ryan Getzlaf scored 1:15 into overtime, and the Ducks rallied to beat the Hurricanes. Pontus Aberg scored the tying goal with 3:50 left in regulation. The Ducks won their third straight and fifth of six games. Andrei Svechnikov scored an early goal for Carolina, which has earned points in five of six but went 0 for 6 on the power play.

Kings at FLAMES (late): Oscar Klefbom scored his second straight game-winning goal and added an assist as the Oilers edged the Kings on Thursday night. Klefbom broke a 2-all tie with 2:20 remaining on his power-play drive from the point.

Blues at AVALANCHE (late): Tyler Bertuzzi broke a tie with 6:53 to go with his second goal of the game and the Red Wings held on to beat the Blues on Wednesday night after blowing a 3-0 lead. Bertuzzi put in a loose puck from just outside the crease for his eighth goal of the season. Thomas Vanek had a goal and an assist, Andreas Athanasiou also scored, defenseman Mike Green had two assists and Jimmy Howard made 33 saves.
