Funeral was supposed to be a moment to honor Bush

CNN spent more time bashing President Trump than honoring the memory and legacy of President George H. W. Bush.

The CNN coverage of the funeral service at the National Cathedral shows how disgusting much, if not most, of our news media has become.

What was supposed to have been a solemn, uplifting, celebration of our 41st president’s life instead became a platform for the moderators on CNN to trash our current president.

American journalism which, at one time, was fair and unbiased has evolved into a left-wing propaganda machine.

Trump’s next pick for high court should tell us about Sinema

Answer to letter-writer Rick Rouse: Will Kyrsten Sinema work across the aisle if Donald Trump has to appoint another U.S. Supreme Court justice?

My guess is no, but I guess only time will tell.

Goldschmidt is gone. And the D-Backs’ faithful are not happy

The front office of the Diamondbacks needs to go, starting with General Manager Mike Hazen, who tries to look and sound like a competent baseball guy. He is not, by any means.

His choices in personnel decisions have been terrible, saddling the team last season with a slew of grossly overpaid mediocrities.

Paul Goldschmidt, who has been underwhelmingly and miserably underpaid by the team for years is a different story. He is one of the few homegrown legends we should pay accordingly in an extension, and hold onto him for dear life, a rarity to be treasured!

Goldschmidt cannot bring anything of value by trade, because as he leaves, the team loses any hint of an identity and becomes a meaningless afterthought devoid of any real baseball character and tradition.

The Greinke addition was a ludicrous major blunder and he should be traded for the best return the team can get. Mr. Kendrick needs to wake up for once, fire Hazen and the abysmal Tory Lovullo, who received a Manager of the Year award that really should have been called the J.D. Martinez award.

Acquiring Martinez was the only halfway decent move made by the team.

Either way, we’ll hear from the special counsel. It won’t be pretty

You don’t become a military general without throwing a lot of people under the bus. You can bet that retired Lt.Gen. Michael Flynn sang like a canary to save himself and his son from long prison terms.

And for those who think that firing special counsel Robert Mueller will save Donald Trump, wake up. If Mueller is fired, the first person who will be subpoenaed by Congress will be Mueller and the whole dirty Trump mess will be publicly televised to the American people.

Thanks to Robb for putting a spotlight on latest sneaky tax

I was very happy to see that columnist Robert Robb took note and wrote about this sneaky tax that was imposed without the taxpayers knowledge or consent.

Oh wait, that’s how our elected officials work. Remember the voters’ OK for tax increases for our state parks, the voters’ OK for taxes to fund our schools that the Legislature swept away from their designated purposes?

I was incensed when I got the notice via our email address.

I wonder how many people will be blindsided when they go to renew their tags?

As for us, we will probably scrap out our 1994 travel van as the $32 fee is more than the license fee now.

Oh duh, another way to remove junkers from our roads and highways.
