SCOTTSDALE – Andrew Paul Nebgen, born on July 7, 1930, passed away on December 4, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Born and raised in Stonewall, Texas, he graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1948. After graduation, following in the Nebgen tradition of military service, Andrew enlisted in the Air Force and served with distinctio­n in the Korean War. He met Jane Wade while attending the University of Texas and they were married on May 14, 1955. Andrew graduated with a degree in Aeronautic­al Engineerin­g from the University of Texas in 1956.

In 1963, he moved the family to Arizona to work at Talley Industries for the balance of his profession­al career. Andrew was prominent in the Boys Scouts of America, the Little League youth baseball program, and Habitat for Humanity. Andrew had a strong faith based in Roman Catholicis­m and was a 50-year active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish, participat­ing in the Knights of Columbus and the Men’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Wade Nebgen, parents, Albert and Bertha, and his siblings, Marcus, Leo, Meta and Hilmer Nebgen. He is survived by his siblings, Annie, James, Herb Nebgen, Evelyn Nebgen Hiesser, and Alice Nebgen Grohman. Andrew is survived by his four children and their wives/partners: Stephen and Jan; Mark and Susan; Don and Pam; and, Matthew and Brenda. Andrew had five grandchild­ren: Drew and Hailey Nebgen (Matthew and Brenda); Austin and Lindsay Nebgen (Stephen); and, Qin Nebgen (Don and Pam).

In Arizona, Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Messinger’s Mortuary, located at 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 and will include a Rosary. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help located at 7655 E. Main St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

Andrew will then be buried in Stonewall, Texas, next to his beloved Jane. A funeral mass will be held in Stonewall, Texas at St. Francis Xavier Church located at 400 Saint Francis St, Stonewall, TX 78671 on Friday, December 14, 2018 with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and mass to immediatel­y follow. Internment will be at the Stonewall Community Cemetery. A reception will be held at the St. Francis Xavier hall after the mass featuring refreshmen­ts and food provided by the St. Rose Society of St. Francis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in his name to Habitat for Humanity or Hospice of the Valley.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
