Camp confidential: Coach Kliff Kingsbury had more time to break down the film following Thursday's preseason win over the Chargers. He wasn't pleased with the number of penalties called against the Cardinals, but he felt it in line with other teams, particularly given the preseason is a time for referees to sort out calls as well . ... A rewatch of the film still left Kingsbury impressed with quarterback Kyler Murray, even with a small sample siz. "He diagnosed his defense as well. He's cerebral, I thought his operation was really good," Kingsbury said. "Had some checks that was exactly what we wanted to get into. And for kind of a limited menu, I thought he executed at a high level." ... Patrick Peterson had fun Saturday. The cornerback picked off Kyler Murray, ran it all the way back and celebrated the whole way. Later, he tried to see how many footballs he could hold at once during punt return drills, hiding two in the back of his jersey, holding one between his legs, three in his arms, and ultimately dropping the seventh. The drop was OK because he is not expected to be in on punt returns or to have to hold seven balls at once at any point this season.

Injury report: Wide receiver Kevin White will not play against the Raiders. Defensive back Josh Shaw has a lingering "shoulder issue" from Thursday's game against the Chargers that will need "a week or two" to recover, according to Kingsbury. He also said tight end Charles Clay and linebacker Haason Reddick are both getting close.

Rookies Andy Isabella (knee) and Byron Murphy (foot) both returned to practice. Kingsbury expects them both to play Thursday. Safety Budda Baker did not finish practice. Both starting tackles, D.J. Humphries and Marcus Gilbert, did not practice.
