No. 2 Alabama 47, South Carolina 23: Tua Tagovailoa threw for a career-high 444 yards and tied his personal best with five touchdowns to help visiting Alabama win. Tagovailoa and his receivers quickly got the Crimson Tide (3-0, 1-0) rolling with firstquart­er TD passes of 24 yards to Najee Harris and 81 yards to Henry Ruggs III. No. 3 Georgia 55, Arkansas State 0: Jake Fromm threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns before taking the rest of the day off, Georgia’s defense turned in a dominating performanc­e and the host Bulldogs romped to a win. No. 4 LSU 65, Northweste­rn State 14: Joe Burrow completed 21 of 24 passes for 373 yards and two touchdowns, and host LSU pulled away from Northweste­rn State in the second half. Burrow also ran for 30 yards and a touchdown.

No. 8 Auburn 55, Kent State 16: JaTarvious Whitlow rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns and Bo Nix ran and passed for scores to lead host Auburn. The Tigers (3-0) piled up 467 rushing yards.

No. 16 Texas A&M 62, Lamar 3: Freshman Isaiah Spiller ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns and Kellen Mond threw for 317 yards with a touchdown pass and a run in three quarters to lead host Texas A&M. Mond was 20 of 28 with an intercepti­on.

No. 9 Florida 29, Kentucky 21: Kyle Trask relieved an injured Feleipe Franks and rallied visiting Florida with three fourth-quarter touchdown drives, including his go-ahead, 4-yard scoring run with 4:11 remaining. Franks, the Gators’ third-year starter, was carted off with a right leg injury late in the third quarter with his team trailing 21-10.

Arkansas 55, Colorado State 34: Arkansas quarterbac­k Nick Starkel, in his first start in a Razorbacks uniform, led his team on two fourth-quarter touchdown drives, breaking a 34-all tie and sending the home team to a win. Tennessee 45, Chattanoog­a 0: Jarrett Guarantano threw three touchdown passes and Tennessee rolled as the host Volunteers began digging their way out of their slowest start in over three decades. Tennessee forced five turnovers and took the suspense out of this one early. Kansas State 31, Mississipp­i State 24: Skylar Thompson threw for 123 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown to lead Kansas State past host Mississipp­i State. KSU (3-0) led 17-14 at halftime but trailed 24-17 in the fourth quarter. Mississipp­i 40, Southeaste­rn Louisiana 29: Matt Corral threw for two touchdowns and the Mississipp­i defense made a pair of game-saving stops on downs in the final six minutes as the host Rebels won.

Missouri 50, Southeast Missouri State 0: Larry Rountree III had two touchdown runs for Missouri, and the host Tigers scored on offense, defense and special teams in the first quarter.
