Track Club on track for an October opening

Track Club, the highly-anticipate­d nightclub taking over the former DeSoto Central Market building, will open in October. The music venue’s owners announced on Monday a lineup of shows leading up to the grand opening of the 80’s-themed club.

Located inside the historic DeSoto building at 915 N. Central Avenue, Track Club will host its first show on Friday, Oct. 4 in advance of its grand opening in early November.

Tickets for some upcoming shows go on sale Friday, Sept. 13. For additional tickets, check the Track Club Facebook page.

Here’s the lineup of shows in October

Gerry Gonza: Friday, Oct. 4

Track Club will take advantage of its Roosevelt Row proximity with a show during First Friday on October 4. Local DJ and rising star Gerry Gonza will take the stage.

What So Not: Saturday, Oct. 5

The second show on the roster is What So Not scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5. What So Not, a project by Australian DJ and record producer Emoh Instead and Flume, has gained a global following. Flume left the project in 2015 and Emoh Instead has since performed solo as What So Not at Coachella and Lollapaloo­za.

Kaskade: Saturday, Nov. 9

Kaskade will kick off the party at Track Club’s grand opening weekend, performing Saturday, Nov. 9. The Chicago-native DJ and record producer, who has sold out shows around the country on his Redux tour, will have a busy weekend, first performing at the new Phoenix nightclub and then heading to Tucson for the Dusk Music Festival.

Fans of the ski-mask-clad DJ Malaa can see him perform at Track Club’s opening celebratio­n on Sunday, Nov. 10. The Paris native continues his weekend with a stop at Track Club on Sunday night after a performanc­e at Dusk in Tucson.

Grand opening event: Nov. 9-10

Track Club, a collaborat­ion between Phoenix developer Charles “Chuckie” Duff; Relentless Beats music promoter Thomas Tuner; and local cocktail company Rattle and Rum is currently under constructi­on at the old DeSoto Central Market location.

With the first official show scheduled for early October, Track Club will be open throughout October leading up to its grand opening Nov. 9 and 10.

Along with the ticketed shows, Track Club’s lounge and patio will be open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Tuesdays through Sundays with free local DJ sets each night.

The new club will be 1980s Olympics-themed and feature waitresses in track suits. It will host ticketed shows with DJs and live performers three to four nights a week with an EDM focus, Turner previously told the Republic.

More shows will be announced on Track Club’s social media as DJs are added to the lineup.
