Bosa is an energetic and very sweet pup
Every year, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters nationwide, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Of those, about 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats.
Each week, The Arizona Republic highlights a handful of the many pets up for adoption at Valley shelters. To check the status of a specific animal, please contact the shelter directly.
Bosa
An absolutely gorgeous guy with uniquely striking features, Bosa is a sweet pup who is sure to never pass up a treat from the doughnut store he shares his name with. At just a little under 2 years old, the Siberian husky pup has a lot of energy and playfulness bottled up in that adorable fluffiness of his.
Bosa was recently brought to the Arizona Humane Society through its Project Reachout Program, which transfers pets from other animal welfare organizations when they are overflowing but AHS has kennel space to house them and put up for adoption. This sweet boy is just one example of how this collaborative effort between different shelters and rescues allowed AHS to give a second chance to more than 800 pets through this program last year alone.
As one might guess, Bosa is a smart and active pup who would do best with a family who is as energetic as he is. As with many huskies, he loves activities that stimulate him intellectually including playing with Kong toys and puzzle feeders, as well as learning new tricks — making him a great candidate for an AHS dog training class. The ability to be outside and get his energy out in a big backyard, hiking the desert trails or simply walking with his favorite human will allow Bosa to have a happier, healthier life both mentally and physically. Belly rubs are also always recommended and appreciated after a long day of play.
How to adopt: Because not much is known about his past, it is recommended to bring the whole family to meet Bosa when he is available on Sunday at noon at the Arizona Humane Society’s Campus for Compassion, 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix. His adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip and a free followup wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
