Ontario abuzz with opportunit­ies for fun

TORONTO – The moose seemed unfazed by it all — a couple dozen paddlers clicking cameras from canoes as it grazed on aquatic plants in the shallows just a few yards away. ❚ Algonquin Provincial Park, about 175 miles northeast of Toronto, is not a land of big worries. Stunning scenery, yes. Big worries, no.

❚ Although more than 3,000 moose inhabit the nearly 3,000-square-mile park, they are shy and stealthy. The tallest stand more than 7 feet, but can blend into the woodland so completely that they are nearly impossible to spot even at close range.

New poker room: Going against the recent trend, Sahara is opening a seventable poker room. It's just the second poker room to open in Las Vegas in nearly three years: The Westgate closed its room in 2015, then reopened it in 2017. Las Vegas’ biggest poker rooms are at Bellagio (37 tables), Orleans (35) and Aria (22).

Answer: The best of the remaining ham and eggs breakfasts that come with a giant slice of bone-in ham is served for $10.95 at Norm’s Diner. Norm’s has locations at 3945 S. Durango on the west side of town and 35 S. Gibson on the east. Make sure you ask for the “big ham.”
