Hotel planned near Allegiant Stadium
A $300 million resort from the Dream Hotel Group has been announced for the far south end of the Strip. Plans call for a 21-story 450-room hotel-casino with multiple restaurants, a rooftop bar, meeting space, a spa and a nightlife component. The developers are banking on the resort’s proximity to the new Allegiant Stadium, noting that guests will be able to walk to Raiders games. Construction on Dream Las Vegas is scheduled to begin next year with the resort opening in 2023.
Sphere price goes up: After announcing last year that the price tag for the 17,000-seat MSG Sphere arena being built behind the Venetian would be $1.2 billion, the number has increased to $1.6 billion. Brunch costs more: The price of the lavish Sterling Brunch at Bally’s has been raised by $20. Already the most expensive buffet in town, the Sunday-only brunch that features lobster, caviar and high-end Champagne is now $125 per person.
Wanderers’ new home: The Bronx Wanderers are on the move again, relocating from The Linq to Harrah's. The show opened three years ago in Bally's Windows Showroom, then spent a year at The Linq.
Best brew: In a list of the best beers in every state from Thrillist, two of the Nevada entries were from breweries in Sparks, near Reno. The third was the Belgian
Tripel from Las Vegas’ Big Dog Brewery.
Question: What’s the second tower going up east of Circa, under construction downtown?
Answer: It’s the new 495-room hotel tower at the Downtown Grand. The seven-floor tower is the resort’s third and adds a mix of standard rooms and suites to bring the room count to 1,194.
