Ruger has sweet, soulful eyes
One definition of the name Ruger is tough, and with one look at this sweet girl it is clear to see that she has led a tough life. This sweet and soulful 4year-old American pit bull terrier mix was rescued by Arizona Humane Society cruelty investigators, with assistance from local police, when it was reported that she was living in unfit conditions in early May.
Upon arrival, this girl and four other canines looked to be let off their chains but were suffering from neglect and medical non-treatment, leading to AHS taking them into its custody for care. Ruger was found to have wounds throughout her body. Ruger also tested positive for the highly contagious, and often fatal, parvovirus. With treatment in AHS’ Parvo Puppy ICU, this sweet girl has made a full recovery.
Despite everything she has been through, Ruger has proven to be as sweet and loving as can be. Through all of her medical treatment and time with AHS, this cute pup has been described as sweet and affectionate from all those who have been fortunate to get to know her while contributing to her care.
The Arizona Humane Society’s adoption locations remain closed as the shelter continues to heal and rehabilitate pets coming in, but its Virtual Matchmaking Adoptions by appointment is available to place pets with their forever families.
