- | Jeff Metcalfe |

Former Arizona State kicker Luis Zendejas is a nominee for the College Football Hall of Fame for the first time.

Others still on the ballot from ASU are defensive lineman Al Harris, safety David Fulcher and coach Darryl Rogers.

Zendejas had 380 career points, the most in NCAA history after his ASU career ended in 1984. He was consensus All-America first team in 1983 with a still school single-season record 28 field goals. He was inducted into the ASU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995.

Harris is on the ballot for a ninth year and Fulcher for a second year. Both were consensus All-America at ASU — Harris in 1978 and Fulcher in 1984 and 1985.

The late Rogers was ASU coach from 1980-84, leaving for the NFL with a 37-18-1 record. He also coached in college at Cal State East Bay (formerly Cal State Hayward), Fresno State (196672), San Jose State (1973-75) and Michigan State (1976-79).

More than 12,000 National Football Foundation members will vote on nominees. The new College Football Hall of Fame class will be announced in early 2021 and inducted Dec. 7, 2021 during the NFF awards dinner in New York.

The College Football Hall of Fame is located in Atlanta.
