Where to find fireworks displays across Arizona
While some annual Fourth of July traditions around Arizona have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, other events will go forward. The firing of the anvil tradition in the town of Taylor will take place early on Independence Day, and Lake Havasu’s fireworks will light up the sky above the Colorado River. However, all of Flagstaff ’s usual Independence Day events, including the parade, Lights on the Lawn and Art in the Park, have been canceled. The Museum of Northern Arizona’s annual two-day Hopi Festival of Arts and Culture has been rescheduled for September. Florence’s annual Fourth of July Freedom Fest has been postponed. There will not be any events or fireworks in the town
until later in the year due to COVID-19 and wildfires. But according to a post on the town’s Facebook page, the town “will be providing enhanced online and televised options for those who would like to enjoy a fireworks show in their homes.”
Some cities, such as Lake Havasu, have not issued guidance on safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Arizona Department of Health Services recommends wearing a face covering in public and avoiding close contact with others.
Please refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the most up-to-date coronavirus safety precautions. Among the CDC’s recommendations are: wearing face coverings while out in public; staying at least 6 feet from other people, even if they are not presenting symptoms and you are both wearing masks; washing hands frequently and staying home if symptoms of illness arise.
Other ways to prevent the spread of the coronavirus can be found at https:// www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/ prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html.
Before you go, make sure to check with each city to see whether there are any weather-related cancellations. Here’s where you will find Fourth of July fireworks around Arizona.
