Lara Trump speaks to 200 at Valley resort

More than 200 people packed a conference room at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale on Tuesday for another rally in support of President Donald Trump.

Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law, took the stage Tuesday evening after an introduction from Rep. David Schweikert, who opened the rally by encouraging attendees to vote early.

“We have the enthusiasm, and we have the majority. So, someone tell me why the Democrats are substantially ahead of us with turning in early ballots,” Schweikert asked. “You need to get it done long before Election Day.”

Lara Trump was greeted onstage with applause and the chant of “Four more years!”

She started her hourlong speech by criticizing and mocking Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden, a trend that would continue throughout the night.

“They chose Joe Biden because they can control Joe Biden,” Lara Trump said.

“I campaigned more to be on the Homecoming Court in high school than Joe Biden is for the presidency,” Lara Trump said, as the crowd of Trump supporters erupted in laughter.

Her key talking points for the night included Biden’s campaign, family, faith-based voting, anti-socialism, and Trump’s work with the economy.

She emphasized a point of voting “R.E.D.,” which she said stands for “remove every Democrat.”

Lara Trump was the latest in a succession of visits from the Trump campaign to Arizona.

President Donald Trump held rallies with thousands of supporters in Prescott and Tucson on Monday, and recently Vice President Mike Pence, the president’s sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, his daughter and adviser, Ivanka, have visited.

Maggie Palau-Hernandez, co-chair of the Latinos for Trump Coalition, attended the rally on Tuesday evening.

She explained a list of reasons why she is casting her vote for Trump.

Her main reason was rooted in her faith that he will rebuild the economy, which has taken a hit as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Palau-Hernandez said that the main point she got out of the rally was to vote early.

“Lara really drove home the importance of making sure everyone goes out to vote to protect ourselves and our children,” Palau-Hernandez said.

The rally hardly touched upon the COVID-19 pandemic.

The red MAGA caps were in abundance, but masks were few and far between.

The event did not require the 200 attendees to wear masks inside the venue.

However, disposable masks and hand sanitizer were available at the entrance to the resort, but few used them.
