Mary Lynn Drabik

-

Mary “LYNN” Drabik, 74, joined her Lord and Savior and many loved ones in eternal life February 5, 2021 with family at her side, after a long battle to overcome extensive injuries suffered in June 2020.

She is survived by 8 siblings, 26 nieces and nephews, 33 grand and 4 great-grandnieces and nephews, many dear friends, neighbors, colleagues, Maryknoll Missionary Sisters and many prayer partners. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Henry & Rose Mary Drabik (Chicago), sister Katherine Paul (Michigan), brothers-in-law Leslie “Bud” Smith, Jim “JW” Richards and Richard Paul, nephew Stephen Ojalvo, and great-niece and nephew Autumn and Blade Klos.

Lynn’s generosity, energy and steadfastness to her family and friends never wavered. As a lifelong student of history, her love for historical heroes like Reagan and Churchill filled her with a strong sense of responsibility to contribute to her neighborhood, country and world she loved. That deep commitment motivated her every day and inspired everyone who loved her. She was a graduate of De Paul University in Chicago, lover of music, the arts, books, family dinners “for 8”, and the people she served as Duet Volunteer, civics aficionado and newly elected Bell Precinct Captain. Her world job assignments, marathon pursuits, national and world travel brought her great joy and allowed her to regale those she loved with tales of her many adventures.

She was deeply vested in health and wellness, improvement in the world, and protection for the vulnerable and aged, and delighted at all the little feathered and furry ‘friends’ that visited her yard and ‘communicated’ with her daily.

Her pursuit of peace and justice for all and her insatiable love of learning prompt Lynn’s bereft family to request, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Hillsdale College, 33 E. College Street, Hillsdale, MI 49242; Judicial Watch, 425 Third Street, SW, Suite 800 Washington, DC 20024; Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower, Phoenix, AZ 85014; Duet Volunteer Services, 555 W. Glendale, Phoenix, AZ 85021; Paws for Purple Hearts, P.O. Box 1209 Merrifield, VA 22116 or the charity of your choice in Lynn’s precious memory.

A celebration of Lynn’s Life Journey is planned for Sunday, February 21 at 2:00p.m., Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road Scottsdale, Arizona 85254

Lynn’s Adopted Philosophy – What is the use of living, if it be not to strive for noble causes and to make this muddled world a better place for those who will live in it after we are gone? Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about. – Winston Churchill
