Fitzgerald, hall of famers golf for charity

Larry Fitzgerald will join hall of famers Marcus Allen, Ivan Rodríguez, Richard Dent and former NFL wide receiver-turned golf influencer Brice Butler on Saturday in the third annual Celebrity Challenge during the PGA Tour Champions’ Cologuard Classic at Omni Tucson National. The five celebrities will compete in a 9-hole event for a total purse of $50,000 that will be donated to colorectal cancer related charities. The challenge will be aired live by Golf Channel from 3-5 p.m.

In Monday qualifying for the Cologuard Classic at Oro Valley Country Club, Alex Cejka, Jim Carter and Todd Fischer all shot 5-under-par 67s to get into the field, and Len Mattiace (68) defeated David Moreland (68) in a playoff to capture the final qualifying spot.
