At the plate: After scoring two runs in Sunday’s Cactus League opener, the Diamondbac­ks had another quiet day offensivel­y on Monday, scoring just one run on four hits. C Stephen Vogt ripped a double into the right field corner in the third and scored on 3B Asdrubal Cabrera’s sharp line-drive single to center. Diamondbac­ks hitters struck out 10 times in seven innings, going down on strikes at least once every inning.

On the mound: RHP Merrill Kelly gave up two runs in the first on a two-run homer by Brewers C Manny Pina. Kelly retired the first two batters he faced before walking RF Billy McKinney and serving up the homer to Pina. RHP Riley Smith and RHP Josh Green each had innings rolled during their outings. Smith allowed three runs (two earned) in 1 2/3 innings while Green gave up two runs in 1 2/3 innings. LF Andy Young misplayed a hit to left in the fourth, leading to an extra run, one of the plays that led to manager Torey Lovullo calling his defense “a little bit sloppy.”

Mavericks 130, MAGIC 124: Luka Doncic had 33 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, Kristaps Porzingis played a nearly flawless second half and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Orlando Magic 130-124 on Monday night. Jalen Brunson scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half as the Mavericks broke open a close game.

76ERS 130, Pacers 114: Shake Milton scored 26 points, Furkan Korkmaz had 19 and the reserves sparked the 76ers to 130-114 win over the Pacers on Monday night. Joel Embiid had 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Ben Simmons had 18 points and six rebounds.

Nuggets 118, BULLS 112: Nikola Jokic dominated with 39 points and 14 rebounds, and the Nuggets beat the Bulls 118-112 on Monday. The three-time AllStar scored 17 in the fourth quarter to help the Nuggets come away with the win after blowing a 15-point lead. Jokic also finished with nine assists, just missing his 50th career triple-double.

PELICANS 129, Jazz 124: Zion Williamson had 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, and the New Orleans Pelicans held off a late Utah charge to beat the NBAleading

Jazz 129-124 on Monday night. Brandon Ingram scored 26 points, Lonzo Ball added 23 and JJ Redick had 17, highlighte­d by a pair of four-point plays on 3-pointers as he was fouled.

Nets 124, SPURS 113 (OT): The Spurs are 8-8 in home games. San Antonio is third in the Western Conference with 35.7 defensive rebounds per game led by Dejounte Murray averaging 6.6. The Nets are 9-7 in road games. Brooklyn leads the Eastern Conference scoring 120.7 points per game while shooting 49.9%.

Cavaliers at ROCKETS, late: The Rockets are 5-8 on their home court. Houston is at the bottom of the league shooting 33% from 3-point range. The Cavaliers are 4-12 on the road. Cleveland gives up 112.6 points to opponents and has been outscored by 8.1 points per game.

Hornets at TRAIL BLAZERS, late: The Trail Blazers are 8-6 on their home court. Portland ranks fourth in the Western Conference shooting 38.1% from downtown. The Hornets are 7-9 on the road. Charlotte allows 113.2 points to opponents and has been outscored by 1.1 points per game.
