That’s how many shots the Florida State women won by at their Florida State Match-Up at Seminole Legacy Club.

A strong field of top Div. I women's teams wrap play on Wednesday at the Gamecock Intercollegiate at Columbia Country Club. On the men's side, a handful of national title contenders will close out the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio.

Noteworthy

● The PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open will extend an exemption to the medalist of this week’s Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course.

● Seminole State, a junior college, is on a two-tournament winning streak. Impressive on its own, what makes the feat more significant is the Raiders have won both events against fields full of Div. I teams.

● If you’re keeping count at home, that’s now five consecutive wins for the Baylor women after they claimed the Icon Invitational at Golf Club of Houston last week.

Spotlight: The unfortunate side of college golf

In most college tournaments, you start five players and count the four best scores. When Alabama senior Davis Shore withdrew with an injury, that left the Crimson Tide with only four players. Before the final round of the LSU Invitational, they learned freshman JP Cave signed for an incorrect scorecard the day prior, which leads to a disqualification. Alabama no longer had four scores to count in the second round and was unable to field a team score, giving the Tide a loss to all 14 teams in the field.
