-

On Monday, March 15, 2021, Patricia Anne Lebario Manuel, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 78. Patricia was born on July 2, 1942 in Peoria, Arizona to Carlos and Dolores (Lugo) Lebario. She is an alumna of Peoria High School (1961) and Northern Arizona State University (1963).

On August 31, 1963, she married Frank Manuel. They raised two children, son Patrick and daughter Celeste. Throughout their marriage, they were given the honor of being godparents to 10 children of family and friends. They treated many children as their own by assisting them through emotional or financial troubles. Anyone who asked for help was comforted by her encouraging words and loving embrace.

Throughout her lifetime, Patricia was a true Catholic who actively participated in the parishes in which she belonged. She spent her youth as a member of St. Charles Borromeo in Peoria. After moving to Goodyear, she became a member of St. John Vianney, where she taught Catechism classes and developed a passion for hand-sewing religious banners. Her later years were spent at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale, where she became a member of Our Lady’s Guild and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. She spent many hours volunteering at the church, school and pantry.

When she wasn’t helping others, Patricia was a model homemaker who enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen and experienced the world through her numerous cookbooks. If she wasn’t in the kitchen she could be found creating in her craft room. The only time her hands were still was when she was reading a book from her personal collection or the local library.

A two time kidney transplant recipient, Patricia was resilient and strong. She researched her Polycystic Kidney Disease and took control of her health so she could be free to take road trips to explore antique shops and unique restaurants. Despite her medical issues, her spirit and faith always remained boundless.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Florence and sister Marcella Sanchez. She is deeply missed by her husband Frank, son Patrick (Liz) and daughter Celeste (Tom Cotter), along with grandchildren: Christine Mena Glass, Kris Glass, Anyssa Manuel, Korina Manuel, Aaron Manuel, Quinn Cotter, and great-grandchild Iszabella Manuel. She is also survived by her siblings and their beloved children: Natividad Lebario, Virginia Lebario, Albert (Rufina) Lebario, Carlos (Francis) Lebario, Margie Lebario, Ruben (Gloria) Lebario, JoAnne (Ben) Lopez and Rick Sanchez.
