On August 2, 2020, Linda Raquel Morse, loving wife, aunt and mentor to many, passed away the at the age of 72. Linda was born on August 13, 1948 in Lexington, Kentucky to Grady and Vada Gaya. Her early years brought her from Kentucky to California and then to Tucson, Arizona, where she graduated from High School. She attended the College of Nursing at Arizona State University and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in June, 1970. In 1971, she married her college sweetheart, Keith Morse.

Linda excelled in her nursing career where she specialize­d in the Intensive Care Units and Cardiac Care units of hospitals throughout the valley. Her high skill level, dedication to her patients and strong personalit­y did not go unnoticed in the community. After earning her Masters of Science degree in Nursing Administra­tion, she returned to the valley and held positions as Assistant Director of Nursing at Boswell Hospital and later as head of the Don Bowell Care Center. However, her first love was always at the bedside and she returned there in the early 1990’s. During her last few years in nursing, she was employed by United Healthcare in several management capacities throughout the west.

Linda is survived by her husband Keith Morse of Glendale, her sister, Peggy Hanes of Woodland, Washington, her brother, Ben Gaya of Pueblo, Colorado and several loving nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A socially distanced celebratio­n of life and open house will be held at Linda’s residence for family and friends on April 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Linda’s final resting place is in the V.A. National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. Please, in lieu of flowers, send any donation to the Lupus Foundation of America.
