Murray teases Suns with video of his jump shot

- Duane Rankin

Chris Paul saw it over the weekend. Kyler Murray knocking down jump shot after jump shot in video tweet he tagged the Phoenix Suns with a message “Whenever y’all are ready.”

Paul, a 16-year NBA veteran and 11time All-Star, is down with Murray joining the Suns – under one condition.

“We’ll let him come play here, they let me go play quarterback,” a smiling Paul said after Monday’s morning shootaround as Suns face Houston Rockets at 7 p.m. at Phoenix Suns Arena.

How’s the arm Chris?

“I played quarterback in high

school. I don’t know. Could definitely use some fine tuning,” Paul said.

Think the Suns got plenty of shooting as they’re ninth in the NBA in 3-point percentage at 37.1%, but Murray did knock down seven jumpers in a row.

None of them would’ve counted as 3s in an NBA game as he was inside or on the outer 3-point line at a gym. While we know Murray can play football and baseball at the pro level, nice to see him having fun on the hardwood.

Plus you can really see how short the quarterback really is.

Murray is also a Suns fan.

He’s attended a few of their games since arriving in Arizona.

After a March 3 practice, Suns AllStar Devin Booker wore a black Murray NFL Rookie of the Year hoodie as Murray won the award in 2019 .

The next night, Murray created a stir sporting a green Oakland Athletics hat at a Suns home game March 4 against Golden State.

The A’s drafted Murray ninth overall in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.

A year later, the Cardinals picked him first overall in the NFL draft.

He’s been with the Cardinals ever since, but wearing that A’s hat got people talking.

Now Murray has social media buzzing again with his latest tweet of knocking down jumpers. Don’t think everyone is taking this one nearly as serious as the A’s cap.

Sure hope not, but Paul is down for Murray lacing it up for the Suns.

Just find a Cardinals helmet and shoulder pads for him to take a shotgun snap or two.
