PHOENIX – Jeanette D. Flores, age 79, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021. She was a graduate of Phoenix Union High School in 1958 and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Junior and Secondary Education from Arizona State University. She went on to teach for over 30 years within the Roosevelt School District. She was passionate about teaching and advocated for children throughout her career. Jeanette’s talents were many, but her greatest accomplish­ments were as a beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, and friend. She enjoyed being around people, going on road trips, cooking, selling Avon, playing bingo, and sharing stories about all of her children and grandchild­ren. Preceded in death by her parents John and Rose Jaramillo, brother James Jaramillo, her sister Juliette Alcove, and daughter-in-law Irma Flores. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Felix C. Flores; son Felix J. Flores, son Ralph Flores (April), daughter Liza McCain (Mark); two brothers and one sister. She will be greatly missed by her 13 grandchild­ren and 5 great grandchild­ren. A viewing will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm on Thursday May 6, 2021 at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Funeral services will be held immediatel­y following the viewing. The burial will follow at 2:00pm at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of flowers, please bring a backpack with school supplies, to donate to the Roosevelt School District, in honor of Jeanette’s passion for education.
