GLENDALE – Baron Kent Tanner, 56, passed away April 12, 2021. A man loved by many, and understood by few, Kenny was born January 8, 1965, in Hollywood, CA. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Foster on December 1, 1987 and together they built a life and home together in Glendale, AZ.

Mostly self-educated Kenny was a Historian, an Explorer, and a self-made Engineer. He owned and operated his “Ken the Painter- Just a Shade Better” residential/commercial painting business for 30 advertisement-free years—no need for an ad when word of mouth and quality of work was sufficient. A caring father and humble teacher to many beyond his own children, the warmth in his hugs will be felt for years. The model of a humble, inquisitive soul and his unwavering love of scripture and GOD, will forever be embedded in those closest to him. Facing all obstacles with an “I’m your huckleberry” mindset he believed stressing the small stuff did no good, for trusting in God’s plan was all he needed. He loved his wife and children dearly but may have equally treasured his garage, hummingbird feeders, and windchimes.

Kenny rests peacefully in Heaven with his grandson Christian and mother Joan; softly whispering, “This too Shall Pass” to those left to cherish his memory including a loving wife of 32 years; Charlotte Tanner; children Ryan (Stacy) Tanner, Jennifer (Lauren) Tanner-Leif, and Monae Tanner; four grandchildren and his siblings.

A memorial gathering and service will be held at 4pm on 5/8 at Jennifer’s home. The family will greet friends beginning at 3pm that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Charlotte for the completion of Kenny’s many on-going home improvement projects.
