No. 2 Cincinnati 45, South Florida 28 (Friday): Desmond Ridder threw two touchdown passes to break the Cincinnati career record and ran for a score to help the visiting Bearcats beat South Florida.

Cincinnati (10-0, 6-0 American Athletic, No. 5 CFP), one of four unbeaten FBS teams, has started the season with 10 consecutiv­e wins for just the second time in school history. The Bearcats also did it in 2009, when they got off to a 12-0 start.

Ridder completed 31 of 39 passes for 304 yards, and ran for 65 yards on 13 carries.

No. 17 Houston 37, Temple 8: Alton McCaskill rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns as Houston methodical­ly dispatched Temple to clinch a berth in the American Athletic Conference title game.

Georgia State 42, No. 22 Coastal Carolina 40: Nose tackle Thomas Gore stopped Shermari Jones’ run for a two-point conversion with 1:09 to play and Georgia State held on at home for the Panthers’ first-ever victory over a ranked opponent.

No. 15 UTSA 27, Southern Mississipp­i 17: Frank Harris passed for 227 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 54 yards and host UTSA overcame a sluggish performanc­e to remain undefeated.

The Roadrunner­s (10-0, 6-0 in Conference-USA) needed late defensive stands to avoid an upset by the Golden Eagles (1-9, 0-6).

No. 24 Louisiana-Lafayette 35, Troy 21: Levi Lewis threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score to help Louisiana-Lafayette beat host Troy on Saturday. Lewis completed 14 of 21 passes for 166 yards to help Louisiana-Lafayette (9-1, 7-0 Sun Belt Conference) extend its winning streak to a schoolreco­rd nine games.
