Herro lifts Heat over Jazz

Heat 111, Jazz 105: Tyler Herro had 27 points and eight rebounds to help visiting Miami beat Utah Jazz on Saturday.

Duncan Robinson made six 3-pointers and added 22 points. Kyle Lowry had 21. Miami swept the season series with the Jazz and snapped a three-game losing streak.

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 26 points –19 coming in the fourth quarter – to lead Utah. Jordan Clarkson added 25 points, and Donovan Mitchell had 22.

The Jazz lost for the fourth time in five games.

Utah used a 18-0 run to rally from a 22-point deficit in the final minutes. Bogdanovic made a layup to finish off the run and cut Miami’s lead to 109-105 with 14.5 seconds left. Herro made a pair of free throws with 10.9 seconds remaining to seal it.

Robinson and Bam Adebayo ignited the Heat’s offense in the first quarter. Robinson made three 3-pointers and Adebayo bookended a 21-2 run with four free throws and a dunk to help Miami surge to a 23-7 lead.

Wizards 104, Magic 92: Spencer Dinwiddie scored 23 points, Montrezl Harrell added 20 and visiting Washington used a 20-0 first-half run to beat Orlando for their fourth consecutiv­e victory.

Kyle Kuzma added 17 points and 10 rebounds to help Washington improve to 9-3 for the first time since the 2014-15 season. That’s much improved over last season when the Wizards were 3-9 after 12 games.

Kuzma had three straight 3-pointers in the third quarter after Orlando pulled to 59-49. Washington closed the third quarter with a 30-16 burst to turn it into a rout.

Washington shot 50% from the floor and improved to 4-0 when shooting at least 50 percent. Also, the Wizards are now 7-2 when scoring at least 100 points. Dinwiddie chipped in 11 rebounds and six assists in his fourth 20point game of the season. Harrell added seven assists and six rebounds off the

Pelicans 112, Grizzlies 101: Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 21 points, Brandon Ingram returned from a sevengame absence to add 19 and New Orleans beat visiting Memphis to snap a nine-game losing streak.

The victory was the first at home this season for the Pelicans, who had lost 12 of their first 13 games playing without Zion Williamson, sidelined with a broken right foot.

Herb Jones added 17 points, and Jonas Valanciuna­s and Devonté Graham each had 15. Valanciuna­s faced his former team for the first time.

Dillon Brooks led Memphis with 23, and Ja Morant had 22.

Pacers 118, 76ers 113: Justin Holiday came off the bench to score a seasonhigh 27 points in Indiana’s victory over visiting Philadelph­ia.

Philadelph­ia center Joel Embiid missed his fourth consecutiv­e game after testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday. The 76ers have lost all four games.

Holiday was 9 of 11 from the field. Malcolm Brogdon had a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Myles Turner added 20 points, and Domantas Sabonis had 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Tobias Harris led the 76ers with a season-high 32 points on 10-of-22 shooting. Tyrese Maxey added 24.

Philadelph­ia cut it to 107-102 with 2:57 on Maxey’s basket. The Pacers pushed the lead to 115-104 with three big baskets by T.J. McConnell.

Pistons 127, Raptors 121: Jerami Grant scored 24 points, Isaiah Stewart had 20 and visiting Detroit used a big fourth quarter to beat short-handed Toronto, the Pistons’ fourth straight victory over the Raptors.

Killain Hayes had 13 points and 10 assists, Saddiq Bey scored 16 points, Josh Jackson had 15 points and Frank Jackson added 14. The Pistons shot 6 for 8 from 3-point range in the fourth, outscoring Toronto 34-26 in the final period.

Detroit rookie Cade Cunningham scored seven of his 10 points in the fourth.

Pascal Siakam fouled out with 25 points and 12 rebounds, Gary Trent Jr. scored 23 points and OG Anunoby had 17 for the Raptors. Toronto lost for the fourth time in five games and dropped to 2-6 at home.

Toronto played without guard Fred VanVleet (left groin) and forward Precious Achiuwa (right shoulder). Forward Khem Birch returned after missing the previous three games because of a sore right knee.

Raptors forward Chris Boucher left after three quarters because of a sore lower back.

Cavaliers 91, Celtics 89: Darius Garland made two free throws with 9.4 seconds left and host Cleveland rallied from 19 points down in the third quarter to beat Boston to open a two-game set.

Dennis Schroder had an opportunit­y to force overtime for Boston, but missed a jumper from the right baseline as time expired. There were five lead changes and seven ties in the final seven minutes.

The teams will meet again Monday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The Celtics built their largest lead at 72-53 with 3:05 left in the third, but the Cavaliers answered with a 24-4 run to go ahead 77-76 on Ricky Rubio’s free throw with 6:43 remaining in the game.
