Look inside swanky new Sky Harbor lounge

A swanky new lounge with a wraparound bar, compliment­ary food and drink and an ambiance of exclusivit­y is now open at Phoenix Sky Harbor Internatio­nal Airport.

Passengers traveling through Terminal 3 now have an Escape Lounges — The Centurion Studio Partner, which is on Level 4 (mezzanine) between gates E and F. It’s the second Escape Lounge at Sky Harbor; the other is in Terminal 4.

Anyone with a boarding pass can visit the lounge. Admission costs $40-$45 per person. American Express Platinum, Business Platinum card and Centurion members as well as Delta SkyMiles Reserve card members receive compliment­ary access.

Where is the new Phoenix Escape Lounge?

After you go through security, go up the escalator toward the gates and turn right. The lounge is next to Passage by Hudson.

How much does Escape Lounge cost?

Escape Lounges are open to the public for a fee and compliment­ary for certain credit card members.

Admission is $40 per person when a reservatio­n is made at least 24 hours in advance at https://escapeloun­ges.com. Entry is $45 at the door. Ask whether you’re eligible for discounts through membership programs such as AAA and military discounts.

Also check Groupon, which sometimes offers discounts.

Admission is compliment­ary for the following cardholder­s who show their card upon entry:

● American Express Platinum (plus two guests).

● American Express Business Platinum (plus two guests).

● American Express Centurion (plus two guests).

● Delta SkyMiles Reserve ($30 per guest).

● TAV Passport (plus one guest).

● Dreamfolks membership (depending on plan; contact Dreamfolks to determine eligibilit­y).

Note that Delta SkyMiles Reserve

card members must have a boarding pass for a Delta flight to be admitted.

When is the Escape Lounge open?

The lounge is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through Nov. 21.

Starting Nov. 22, it will be open 4:30 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, according to a representa­tive for MAG USA, the company that operates the lounge. Check the lounge’s website for the most up-todate hours.

● The lounge only accepts credit cards (no cash).

● Standby passengers are not eligible for entry; a boarding pass with a confirmed seat or zone assignment is required.

● The lounge enforces a “smart casual” dress code. Avoid wearing clothing with slogans that may be offensive and shorts that cut off above the knee; men must wear shirts that cover their shoulders.

Escape Lounge amenities

The lounge is inside a glass-window enclosure, which has a host’s desk just past the automatic door. A sign details the contactles­s check-in procedure, which involves checking the guest’s ID, scanning their boarding pass, processing their card payment and seating them.

A variety of seating options can accommodat­e solo travelers and groups. Pod seats with tray tables and stools at the bar are the best options for people flying solo.

Group seating can be found around the perimeter of the lounge, with booth and chair seating at tables as well as a long table at the back.

There are ample electrical outlets with USB ports. Free Wi-Fi is available along with compliment­ary access to a digital library, PressReade­r, which includes thousands of publicatio­ns from around the world. Card members can browse the Centurion Lounge Digital Library, which offers newspapers and magazines.

Entertainm­ent options also include activity packs for children and noisecance­ling Bose headphones.

There is one unisex bathroom, which has a diaper changing table inside. It can fit one person or family at a time.

Food and drink at the Escape Lounge

The lounge offers a menu that changes seasonally.

Meals — which are served tapasstyle — and a selection of alcoholic drinks are included with admission; card members have access to an exclusive menu of premium snacks, wine and liquors. Non-cardholder­s can purchase premium wines, spirits, cocktails, beers and water for an additional fee.

Breakfast is available until 10:30 a.m., and the lunch/dinner menu is served until closing. Guests are expected to wear masks while not actively eating or drinking.
