Arline Kay Johnson Teifke

-

It is with heavy hearts and beautiful memories, we announce the passing of Arline Kay Johnson Teifke on November 1, 2021. Arline is survived by Rudi Horst Teifke, her devoted husband of sixty years; her four children, John Teifke, David Teifke, Heidi Morgan, and Bruce Teifke; and six grand-children. Arline is also survived by siblings Kenneth Johnson, Sally Heinz, and Laurie Fleischman.

The tenth child born to Clyde and Iva Johnson in Buffalo, New York on April 29, 1943; she became Rudi’s beautiful bride on November 4, 1961. She taught all who knew her the meaning of love through her sweetness, intelligence, kindness, quick wit, sense of fun and adventure, and steadfast devotion to family and God. She enjoyed traveling, crunching numbers, crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking, bowling, and most of all, being Mama Teifke beside Papa Teifke.

We feel how deep her devotion and love run through us as we come together to bridge the chasm left in our hearts from the loss of our happy matriarch. She can be heard in the chatter, laughter, and tears of family and friends around the kitchen table as we celebrate her life and the quiet humming of wings at the hummingbird feeder. She can be seen in all of the little touches throughout the home. She is in the smell of lilac and taste of apple pie. We can feel her in the silent sunrays blanketing the backyard in Phoenix, Arizona and all of the places she loved to travel. Ecclesiastes 3
