Teodosio “Tiny” Gutierrez and Martha Dahlia “Dollie” Gutierrez (Moreno)
Our beloved parents, Tiny and Dollie, passed away after 50 years of marriage in Phoenix, Arizona. Tiny, 76, passed away on November 7, 2021, and Dollie, 70, followed him in death on November 11, 2021. Sadly, they both passed away from COVID-19. Their marriage will be remembered for their love of one another and their love for their family and friends.
Tiny was born on November 17, 1944, in Chandler, Arizona, to parents Felix and Maria Gutierrez. Tiny was a Tempe High School graduate. He proudly served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Tiny was a plumber by trade and was the owner of T.C. Gutierrez Plumbing for 37 years. Anyone that knew Tiny, was touched by his sense of humor, work ethic, willingness to lend a helping hand, and his devotion to family.
Dollie was born on March 8, 1951, in Mesa, Arizona, to parents Manuel and Delia Moreno. Dollie graduated from Tempe High School and earned an AA degree from Paradise Valley Community College. She was employed by the Paradise Valley Unified School District as a language acquisition technician for 31 years. One of Dollie’s many talents was lovingly baking delicious and beautiful cakes for family and friends’ weddings, birthdays, and quinceaneras. She had a deep faith in the Holy Spirit and volunteered many hours at her church. Dollie was always ready to aid anyone in need.
As a couple, Tiny and Dollie had a very special bond. Their thoughtfulness, giving hearts, love for family, and their faith in God inspired us all. Their memories, love, and light will always shine in our hearts. We will miss them forever.
Tiny and Dollie are survived by their four children: Teodosio “Ted” Gutierrez (Tricia), Mark Gutierrez, David Gutierrez (Angel), and Elena Tagge (Matt); Grandchildren: Colton Gutierrez, Julian and Jennai Hamilton, Jasmin Redman, Madison Gallegos, Seannette Taylor, Dash and Dream Tagge, Justice, Lennox, Deuce and Felix Gutierrez; Great-grandchildren: Iliana, Isaiah, and Israel Redman, Eva Hamilton and Jordan, Avery and Lilliana Jackson, Jonathan Gutierrez; Dollie’s brothers, Manuel and Albino Moreno, and sister, Christine Schad.
They are both predeceased by their parents and their granddaughter, Sophia Marie Gutierrez; Tiny’s brothers, Melquiades, Vicente, and David Ortega.
A visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, with a Rosary at 6 pm, Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery and Funeral Home, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 30 W. 1st Street, Mesa, AZ. Graveside services are following at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
