SCOTTSDALE – With grieving hearts, the family of Laura Jane Lent Spinti share her passing on Dec 3, 2021. She was surrounded, embraced, and supported by her family who all loved her deeply, strongly. She was the cornerstone and inspiration for our lives. Her strength and vibrancy made it seem possible she would be with us forever. Through the pain of our loss, we are filled with admiration for the life she created. Laura always met life with a smile and laughter. Her children felt blessed and proud to have her as their mother. Among her family and friends Laura was legendary for her energy, enthusiasm for life, and openness to new adventures. She was enthusiast about gardening, her family, classical music, and ballet. An elegant swimmer and diver, she never lost her love for water. Born on June 26, 1927 to Wilmar Francis Lent and Mildred (Wright) Lent, Laura spent her early years in Milwaukee, later attending Milwaukee-Downer Seminary. Moving from the Milwaukee area in 1965 Laura and her husband, Robert, raised seven children on a farm in Ozaukee County, WI. There they learned how to work together farming and found joy in life outdoors. She worked happily for many years at the Northern Ozaukee School District elementary school office. At the age of 69, she set out on a new adventure and moved to Las Cruces, NM. She felt fortunate to find many new friends and activities in her new home. She volunteered at El Caldito soup kitchen and especially enjoyed her hiking groups and the many good people she shared so much with while walking the surrounding mountain trails. Attending the Santa Fe Opera with friends also made her life in Las Cruces special and happy. In 2018, Laura moved to Scottsdale to be closer to family, but never stopped traveling to spend time with her children in Wisconsin, California, and New Mexico. We remember our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister was quick to laugh, someone who never complained, said ‘yes’ to any adventure, always asked how she could help, and spoke her love. We will spend the rest of our lives striving to serve as a testament to her spirit. Preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Spinti and grandson Scott Adams. Survived by brothers Robert (Thea) Lent and Jim (Lisa) Lent who loved her as the best of sisters, children Kathy (David) Boyd, Jane Spinti (Jim Jacobs), Susan Spinti, Todd (Jennifer) Spinti, Sheila (Lance) Miller, Mark (Amy) Spinti, and Karen Spinti. Grandchildren Aaron, Maura, Catie, Hayley, Meghan, Nick, Scott and Matt. Great grandchildren Colin, Araya, and Oliver. Join family and friends as we gather December 18 at 11:00 to honor her memory at St Finbar’s Cemetery, Saukville, WI. Following will be refreshments and remembrances at the David Boyd home.
