Make fun of Herschel Walker, but he has the right stuff to lead
I saw Mike Luckovich’s cartoon on Georgia’s U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker. It shows Walker, a Republican and former star football player, running toward the goal line in his football uniform.
Walker is carrying lots of luggage in both arms, but under his right arm is a large duffel bag labeled “Hershel Walker’s Baggage.”
Most people know Walker was a champion running back for the University of Georgia, the USFL and the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. But a lot don’t know he is an accomplished small businessman, innovator and community leader and role model.
In college, I was taught why America was envied all over the world. In a free capitalist society it is cutting edge innovation, small businesses building a better mousetrap so they can grow into bigger more successful businesses with efficiency to beat out established corporations around the world.
I have seen champions develop. And if their vision and physical skills are efficient, they trust what they see, their focus is simply on the goal and not on the obstacles.
They keep it simple and are efficient performers, with perfection in their fundamentals as their basis for success.
They’re positive performers, practicing perfect fundamentals so they can win efficiently to accomplish their ultimate goal.
I have a license to practice in Georgia and love their southern hospitality. The small business people today seem to be crushed by unfair taxes and government regulations that global corporations don’t face.
I can’t vote for Herschel Walker for U. S. senator, but I am supporting him as someone I admire as an efficient and instinctual performer who will get things done to restore the shrinking middle class and mom-and-pop business innovators.
Go, Herschel, go!
