Douglas’ hat trick leads ASU soccer over Grambling State
Nicole Douglas, Arizona State soccer’s all-time leading goal scorer, recorded the fourth single-game, schoolrecord tying hat trick of her Sun Devil career in a 5-0 win Wednesday night over Grambling State. She also became the Sun Devils’ career leader in points (126) and game-winning goals (17).
Douglas, who has scored all eight of her goals this season in ASU’s past four games, now has 27 goals since the start of the 2021 season, a span of 25 games.
Goalkeepers Pauline Nelles and Birta Gudlaugsdottir combined to make three saves as ASU (3-0-2) posted its first shutout since Sept. 17, 2021 against Colorado College in a 2-0 win. The Sun Devils play their final non-conference game of the season at 7 p.m. Sunday at home against Toledo.
WM Phoenix Open tickets on sale
Tickets are now on sale for the 2023 WM Phoenix Open, set for Feb. 6-12 at TPC Scottsdale. Daily general admission ticket prices will remain the same as 2022. Tickets for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday are still $50; Friday and Saturday GA remain $75. A weekly sponsor badge, which includes four daily general admission tickets (Wednesday through Sunday) and one good all week general parking pass, is available for $850.

Drive laps at Phoenix Raceway for charity
Phoenix Raceway will host Track Laps for Charity from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 1. For a donation of $30, motorists can drive their personal vehicles around the raceway’s mile-long, doglegged oval. All proceeds will benefit Arizona Accelerator Charities, a 501(c)(3) donor advised fund under The NASCAR Foundation. There are a host of regulations to follow, such as age limitation (licensed drivers 18 and older), speed limit (55 mph) and passenger vehicles only (no motorcycles).
