New music festival to cap off spring training

Surprise has announced the inaugural Bases and Brews Music Fest for March 24-26 at Mark Coronado Park next to Surprise Stadium. The festival will top off spring training season with headlining sets by Andy Grammer, Chris Lane, Walk the Moon and lovelytheb­and.

The family-friendly event, presented by Surprise and Steve LeVine Entertainm­ent and Public Relations, also features a carnival midway with more than 40 rides and games, festival food, beer and spirits.

During the day, the stage will feature live music from local artists and community groups, followed by a national headliner each night.

Bases and Brews Music Fest 2023 lineup

Co-headlining the main stage on Saturday, March 25, are multiplati­num singer-songwriter Andy Grammer (best known for the triple-platinum Top 10 hit “Honey, I’m Good”) and country singer Chris Lane, who has landed three singles (”Fix,” “I Don’t Know About You” and “Big, Big Plans”) on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

Headlining the main stage on Sunday, March 26, is multiplati­num Billboard Music award-winning pop-rock band Walk the Moon, who topped the Billboard rock charts with 2014’s fivetimes-platinum “Shut Up and Dance.” Also on the bill are alternativ­e-rockers lovelytheb­and, best known for their triple-platinum breakthrou­gh single “broken.”

The Friday lineup and local acts have not been announced.

Bases and Brews Music Fest hours

The festival runs from 4 p.m. to midnigt Friday, March 24; 10 a.m.-midnight Saturday, March 25, and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday, March 26.

The festival is at Mark Coronado Park next to Surprise Stadium, 15850 N. Bullard Ave., Surprise.

How to get tickets to Bases and Brews Music Fest

General admission tickets are $30, $20 for ages 5-12 and free for age 4 and younger. VIP tickets are $150. Tickets are valid for one-day entry.

Ride tickets and all-day ride passes must be purchased separately. A wristband for unlimited rides may be purchased in advance for $32 or for $37 at the festival. Family packs will be available later.
