MESA – Elizabeth Marie Corfield, 80 peacefully passed away in the early evening hours on February 25, 2023, in Mesa, Arizona with her husband by her side. Liz was born in Boone, Iowa, July 29, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Dodge. Preceded in death by sister Mary (John) and brother Tom (Pamela).

She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and attended St. Teresa’s grade school and junior, graduated high school from Piux X in 1960. She worked various jobs including respirator­y therapist, phlebotomi­st, and full-time mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r. Liz is best remembered for her quick wit, love for animals and love for laughter. She had a lifelong love of sewing, reading, traveling and was a huge fan of writer and humorist Erma Bombeck. She kept up a dedicated correspond­ence with friends and relatives. She had a way of making people realize they mattered and made many meaningful friendship­s throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years George Walter Corfield, sister Phyllis Stiemke (Ken) daughter Lisa Corfield (Richard) daughter Chris Corfield Hubbard (Tim) son Kenneth Corfield (Michael), grandchild­ren Christophe­r Greene (Niki) Taylor Ollerton (Byron), Joseph Greene, Samantha Greene, and Chase Hubbard. She was blessed with three great grandchild­ren Wyatt, Ezra, and Virgil Greene. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins as well as her best friends Donna, Carolyn and Ginny.

A Celebratio­n of Life service will be held in honor of Liz’s life at a later time in Mesa, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to The Arizona Humane Society.
