Gretchen Fae (Phillips) Ravenscrof­t, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on February 18, 2023.

Gretchen was born on November 26, 1938, to Charles Harold and Hazel T. (Hougan) Phillips in Story City, Iowa. Attending several smalltown schools in her elementary years, she enjoyed her childhood on the farm.

After graduating from Story City High School (1956), she worked at a bank in Ames, Iowa. She was married and became the mother of three children, Chad, Stephanie, and Scott.

Gretchen moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1968, where she began her career in real estate. She attended Ascension Lutheran Church and met Robert (Bob) Ravenscrof­t. They married and shared a wonderful life for over 44 years.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her three children: Chad N. Nelson, Stephanie Fae Nelson, Scott C. Nelson, and her sister, Jean Marilynn Phillips Jones.

Surviving Gretchen is her husband, Robert (Bob) Ravenscrof­t, stepson Robert (and Debi) Ravenscrof­t, Jr., Granddaugh­ters Tayler Ravenscrof­t and Caterina Van Alst-Nelson and siblings: Ann Carolyn Phillips Harlan, John Charles Phillips, and Robert Kent (and Michele) Phillips.

A “Celebratio­n of Life” will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church (7100 N. Mockingbir­d Ln, Paradise Valley, AZ) on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: HALO ANIMAL RESCUE, Phoenix, AZ: (www.halorescue.org), or ROUNDUP RIVER RANCH (www.roundupriv­erranch.org) in memory of Gretchen Fae Ravenscrof­t.
