Take MARTA, which will open at 5 a.m. Thursday. The start-line station is Lenox Square. The finish-line station is Midtown or Art Center. There is no parking available at Lenox Square. Most roads near Lenox Square will be closed at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Can be found on peachtreeroadrace.org, atlantatrackclub.org and ajc.com/peachtree. Race number pickup: If you didn’t receive your race number in the mail, it can be picked up at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today. The expo is free. To receive your number, you need to bring a copy of your race-number confirmation and a form of ID. A third party can pick up your number using that information.
Safety guidelines:
There will be an increased lawenforcement presence and an increased number of restricted areas for this year’s race. Runners and spectators are being asked to leave backpacks or unnecessary items at home. Other items that aren’t allowed on the course include any wheeled conveyance (including baby strollers, inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, skateboards and scooters), iPods or MP3 players. If you see something suspicious, call 911 or alert a local official.
