Anderson reaches Memphis final

Second-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa beat American Donald Young 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 Saturday in the semifinals of the Memphis (Tenn.) Open.

Anderson, ranked No. 15 in the world, improved to 8-3 in advancing to his first final this year.

Today, he will play either two-time defending champ Kei Nishikori of Japan or American Sam Querrey.

■ World Tennis Tournament: Defending champion Tomas Berdych beat Gilles Simon of France 6-2, 6-1 to line up Stanislas Wawrinka in today’s final in Rotterdam, Netherland­s.

The fourth-seeded Wawrinka eliminated second-seeded Milos Raonic of Canada 7-6 (3), 7-6 (7).

■ Thailand Open: Slovakia’s Daniela Hantuchova saved two match points to beat Marina Erakovic of New Zealand 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3) in a semifinal in Pattaya.

Hantuchova faces Ajla Tomljanovi­c in today’s final after the Croatian upset seventh-seeded Monica Puig of Puerto Rico 7-6 (4), 5-7, 7-6 (7) to reach her first career final.

■ Diamond Games: Third-seeded Andrea Petkovic of Germany beat unseeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic 7-6 (2), 7-6 (6) to reach today’s final in Antwerp, Belgium, where she faces fifth-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain.

Suarez Navarro had little trouble beating eighth-seeded Karolina Pliskova 6-2, 6-2.
