I have a beautiful Persian lamb coat that my mom gave me. I would like to have it made into a reversible vest. Where in Atlanta can I find a reputable and fashionable designer to have it remade? I am always hot and don’t really wear coats. I know that I would love it and use it if I could have it made it into a cold weather vest. Thank you. — Marcy Siegel, Marietta

Marcy, I have a good friend who had a fur coat that she had made into a lining for her denim jacket, and she’s delighted with the outcome. She took it to Helen Frushtick Furs, 4375 Cobb Parkway, Atlanta, 404-659-2257. The furri- er has been in the Atlanta area for about 50 years. When you call, ask for Connie.

I’ve been trying to find a manual coffee grinder for some time now. Could you possibly point me in any direction? — Gerard Turner, email

The Hario Skerton manual coffee grinder is a Japanese product that’s pretty popular with the DIY coffee crowd. The adjustable hand grinder is lightweight and features a conical ceramic burr mechanism. It also includes a storage lid to keep grounds fresh. It’s available locally for $49.95 at Crate and Barrel, 3400 Around Lenox Drive, Atlanta, 404-239-0008.

On a trip to China in 2006, I was able to purchase two bottles of Simengdi Bio-Gold Pearl cream. Let me tell you, this cream made my skin feel like silk. My skin glowed, felt soft to the touch and I could go without makeup. I have written to the company in China several times but with no results. I read your article every Sunday, so I decided to email you with hopes that you will be able to locate the cream here in Georgia or through mail order. — Katherine Eberhart, Atlanta

Bio-Gold Pearl cream comes as beads holding one application each. Ingredients include ganoderma extract (a type of mushroom), vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. You can purchase your face cream through several online retailers. I found the best price through www.amazon.com, where you can order a 360gram bottle for $18.74, including shipping. You’ll find several options on eBay with various price points.

I have been purchasing Goya dried red kidney beans from Kroger for almost six years now. However, for the last several months, they have not had them in either of the Kroger stores in my neighborhood. Would you please tell me where I can find Goya dried red kidney beans in Atlanta? Thanks. — Sonya Comer, Douglasville

Sonya, I’ve got a great resource for your Goya dried beans that allows you to stock up for quite a while. Head for Hispanic aisle five at Buford Highway Farmers Market, 5600 Buford Highway, Doraville, 770-455-0770. The store stocks myriad dried beans, including 14-ounce bags of Goya dried red kidney beans for $1.95, and fourpound bags for $8.99.
