Designer opened Jackson Charles Home in 2013.
When fans of her interiors bombarded Eddie Brumbaugh with emails about where to find “that sophisticated sectional or lamp,” the Atlanta designer decided it was time to open Jackson Charles Home in West Midtown.
Designer/Owner: A California native, Brumbaugh graduated from the University of Houston, where she played volleyball and ran track and field. After five years as a flight attendant in New York City, she moved South and earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design at the Art Institute of Atlanta. In 2013, she opened a shop that reflected her style.
The showroom: Offers a mix of eclectic, transitional and modern furnishings, reimagined antiques and unique accessories.
The name: The showroom was named for her oldest son, Jackson Charles.
What makes my showroom different: It’s sophisticated, glamorous and fun with casual elements that appeal to a feminine and masculine palate.

Known for: Glamorous spaces and designing “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burress’ estate in Atlanta.
Popular gift items: Kate Spade desk accessories ($15 to $60); agate stone coasters and trays ($120 to $250); and Shelley Kyle (Crystal, puff and body powder set, $30 to $60), and all items can be sold separately.
People are surprised to learn: We sell jewelry and that we offer professional interior design services. Always on the hunt for: Anything gold that might appeal to shoppers who haven’t transitioned yet from silver.
Claim to fame: As a track and field athlete, competed against Jackie Joyner-Kersee and trained alongside Carl Lewis and Leroy Burrell.

Most unusual request: A “unique” fish tank on a $6,000 budget, which was also to include furnishing a two-story single-family home.
Biggest designs mistake I have made: Designed and presented a bachelor’s basement concept only to find the presentation included his fiancé sitting in on the meeting. The project included stripper poles, nude art and adult movie posters — per the client’s request (major side-eye).
... and homeowners make: Failing to hire a professional interior designer for a full-scale design or a space-specific design consultation.
Most recent project: A professional athlete’s 15,000-square-foot estate in Roswell that we designed thru the building process. We assisted with selections of hard finishes, lighting, paint, wallpapers, all furniture and artwork.
Dream project: Design, build and furnish a home for Cam Newton, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
Up next: Working with a developer in south Atlanta and on some technical integration.
About me
My home style: A lot like my shop, but fewer bells and whistles because I have three small children. Everything that I have in my home allows them to be the children they are and keeps me from worrying that they will damage something.
Favorite spaces: The playroom I created for them. It has plenty of storage for quick and easy cleanups. It’s also personalized with painted faces for each of them.
Household issue I am particular about: Organization and putting things in their proper keeping places.
Can’t stop buying (or collecting): Shoes, purses and Container Store products! I love boxes, pretty bags and see-through storage containers. I feel you can never have enough, but sadly I’m learning that you can.
