4th & Swift has closed

One of Atlanta’s premier fine dining restaurant­s, 4th & Swift in Old Fourth Ward, closed on July 24 after more than eight years in business. The announceme­nt was posted on its Facebook page on Monday: “This was a difficult decision and we thank you for your patronage over the years.” In late May, 4th & Swift’s chef/owner Jay Swift opened a new restaurant, Noble Fin, in Peachtree Corners with his son, Jeb Aldrich, as the chef de cuisine. ASW Distillery open for tours

The largest of Atlanta’s new craft distilleri­es, ASW Distillery is now open for weekly tours and tastings, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 2-4:30 p.m. Saturdays. MillerCoor­s takes over Terrapin

Brewing giant MillerCoor­s has struck a deal to take a majority stake in Terrapin Beer Co., the popular Athens craft brewery. Terrapin was founded in 2002 by Brian “Spike” Buckowski and John Cochran. The partners sold a minority interest in the company to MillerCoor­s’ craft brewing division, Tenth and Blake Beer Co., in 2012.
