A 14-year-old girl was shot at a back-to-school party Thursday night in DeKalb County, police said.

The girl was shot in the abdomen and rushed to a hospital, where she remained Friday.

About 50 to 100 teens were at the party in the 3100 block of Bluebird Lane near Columbia Drive when a silver or gray sedan pulled up with about three men inside, DeKalb police Maj. Stephen Fore said.

A man from the vehicle fired several shots, one striking the girl before the sedan sped away.

The teen was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Fore said about 30 minutes before the shooting, a group of men in their late teens to early 20s had showed up to the party, and a mother asked them to leave because the party was for younger kids.

It is unclear if the men are connected to the shooting.
