Man arrested in fatal restaurant shooting
Incident took place in Cherokee County on Thursday.
A man accused of shooting and killing another man at a Cherokee County restaurant Thursday evening has been arrested, police said.
About 7:40 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at La Taqueria Oaxaquena in the 400 block of Marietta Road, Canton police spokesman Pacer Cordry said.
Ylarrio Garcia Jarquin, 41, of Canton, was apprehended shortly after running out of the back of the restaurant, Cordry said.
He was being held Friday in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on a murder charge.
The victim, Edel Cortes Mendoza, 41, of Canton, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
