City finance director resigns position
Chattahoochee Hills Finance Director Kyle Jones has resigned. Jones held the position since 2009, his duties including the accounting, budgeting and purchasing of items need for the city’s operation.
He has accepted a position working for the city of Brookhaven. Jones’ last day in office will be Sept. 2.
The search for a new finance director will take place over the next several weeks.
During the transition City Manager Robbie Rokovitz will handle the finance related issues for the city.
City names new Main Street manager
College Park has named Jessica Mitchell as the new manager for the College Park Main Street Association. She will work closely with the city’s economic development staff and council members to revitalize the Main Street area to attract, retain and grow businesses.
She will also develop programs aligned with the business goals and community efforts to make full use of the downtown and historic areas as a recreational, historic, cultural and economic resource.
The College Park Main Street Association is governed by a board of directors and advisory members. The group works to bring together civic and business leaders in College Park to improve the economic landscape and expand

Briarwood Park center to serve as donation site
Briarwood Park Community Center in Brookhaven will serve as a collection site for victims of the recent flooding disaster in Louisiana. Reportedly 13 people have died and another 20,000 people are homeless.
Donations will be accepted through Sept. 9 at the center, 2235 Briarwood Way. The center is open 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Items needed: water, food, cleaning supplies, new underwear in unopened packaging, baby products, toiletries, batteries, mosquito repellent.
