Opening Reception for Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference Exhibit. 1 p.m. Saturday. Library hours through Oct. 18. Hairston Crossing Branch, 4911 Redan Road, Stone Mountain. This interactive exhibition, for all ages, focuses on the impact engineers have on our lives with solutions, innovations and new technologies. Several DeKalb libraries will host programs related to the exhibit. Georgia 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. 8 a.m. registration, 8:46 a.m. climb Sept. 10. The Manhattan Condominium, 4561 Olde Perimeter Way, Dunwoody. Join local fire rescue, police and first-responder participants to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters, 60 police officers and 10 EMS workers who made the ultimate sacrifice 15 years ago. Participants pay tribute by climbing 110 stories, the equivalent of the World Trade Center, remembering the fallen and symbolically completing their heroic journey.
