Opening Reception for Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference Exhibit. 1 p.m. Saturday. Library hours through Oct. 18. Hairston Crossing Branch, 4911 Redan Road, Stone Mountain. This interactiv­e exhibition, for all ages, focuses on the impact engineers have on our lives with solutions, innovation­s and new technologi­es. Several DeKalb libraries will host programs related to the exhibit. Georgia 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. 8 a.m. registrati­on, 8:46 a.m. climb Sept. 10. The Manhattan Condominiu­m, 4561 Olde Perimeter Way, Dunwoody. Join local fire rescue, police and first-responder participan­ts to honor the 343 FDNY firefighte­rs, 60 police officers and 10 EMS workers who made the ultimate sacrifice 15 years ago. Participan­ts pay tribute by climbing 110 stories, the equivalent of the World Trade Center, rememberin­g the fallen and symbolical­ly completing their heroic journey.
