County, GDOT to open new lanes on Ga. 400
State and local officials are scheduled to cut the ceremonial ribbon Oct. 5 to open a widened, 8-mile stretch of Ga. 400 from McFarland Parkway to just north of Ga. 20 in Forsyth County.
The ceremony comes less than a year since the groundbreaking for new Ga. 400 traffic lanes in Forsyth.
The project is a joint effort by Forsyth County — contributing about $34.5 million from a transportation bond issue approved by voters in November 2014 — and the Georgia Department of Transportation, which provided $13 million
City OKs seating at Webb Bridge Park
The Alpharetta City Council has approved a $124,581 bid to construct spectator seating on the slope of the lower multipurpose field at Webb Bridge Park.
The Department of Recreation and Parks had put out a request for proposals in July for spectator seating for about 60 to 100 people, with construction to be of concrete, aluminum, natural grass or stone; with separation between home and visiting attendees; and steps or a ramp connecting the seating area to a pavilion at the top of the slope.
