$60M Tory Burch warehouse, 150 jobs set for Henry County
Women’s accessories and apparel brand Tory Burch plans to open a new distribution center in metro Atlanta to support its e-commerce division, according to a state news release.
The company and Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Thursday the new warehousing operation in Henry County will include more than 150 jobs by 2020.
The project is expected to open by the end of next year.
Metro Atlanta is a key player in the warehousing and logistics sectors, with companies leveraging the region’s proximity to the Savannah and Brunswick ports, its interstate and rail networks and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
E-commerce distribution or fulfillment centers have become a growing segment in the metro Atlanta warehousing industry with the growing popularity of online shopping.
Georgia boasts similar facilities by Amazon, Williams-Sonoma and other big retailers.
Thursday’s announcement said Tory Burch expects to spend $60 million in the new facility in the Lambert Farms Logistics Park in McDonough.
The 183-acre site is among a wave of new logistics centers developed in recent years capitalizing on the demand for new distribution space.
New York-based Tory Burch has 180 stores worldwide, the company said, and nine e-commerce sites in multiple languages.
