City will consider ban on overnight street parking
The Lawrenceville City Council will hold a public hearing to discuss a proposed ordinance to prohibit overnight parking between the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. in all public right-of-ways. The hearing will be held in conjunction with the next city council meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at City Hall, 70 S. Clayton St.
The proposed ordinance is in response to complaints to police of cars routinely parked on streets instead of in driveways. In addition to the prohibited hours, the proposed ordinance would prohibit parking in any intersection or crosswalk, or within 20 feet of any intersection or crosswalk, as well as “at any place where the vehicle would block the use of the driveway, at any place where the standing, stopping or parking of a vehicle will reduce the useable width of the roadway for moving traffic to less than 20 feet, and at any place in the area of Nash St. from Neal Boulevard to Clayton St. next to City Hall.”
Weekend road closures will challenge traffic
Roads in downtown Norcross will be closed from 4 a.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday to accommodate visitors to Norcross ArtSplash.

Jones Park driveway at Holcomb Bridge Road, Holcomb Bridge at Thrasher Street, at the gravel lot on S. Peachtree at Holcomb Bridge Road, and College Street at Holcomb Bridge Road and Bostic Street on both ends.

Water and sewer bond receives “A” rating
According to the latest Standard and Poor’s Global rating, Braselton’s water and sewer revenue bonds received an ‘A’ longterm and underlying rating.
The objective of the rating agency is to assign a municipal bond a credit rating to make it faster for investors to evaluate risk. Although a “AAA” is the highest rating, the single-A rating represents strong creditworthiness.
