Taste of Atlanta is on your calendar, right? That annual eat-fest, featuring more than 90 of Atlanta’s top restaurant­s and chefs, is taking place on the streets of Midtown Oct. 21-23. Oh, but there’s so much more happening in the world of food and drink this fall. Loosen your belts and get ready for these standouts:

Rare bourbon dinner

Whiskey lovers, enjoy an intimate five-course meal paired with bourbons from Local Three’s secret stash. Chef Ben Barth will pair whiskey-friendly dishes with custom blends from Four Roses, George Dickel Tennessee Whisky, Breckenrid­ge and more.

Oktoberfes­t party

Petite Auberge transforms its banquet rooms into a festive Bavarian-style hall with an all-you-caneat buffet of German and Bavarian delectable­s and oompah music by a polka party band.

Spanish dinner with guest chef Katie Button

Enjoy a Spanish dining experience and meet Katie Button, executive chef and owner of Cúrate in Asheville and author of the soonto-be released cookbook “Cúrate: Authentic Spanish Food From an American Kitchen.” Gather on the patio for cocktails, then enjoy five courses inspired by recipes from Button’s cookbook.

Little City Lowcountry

This inaugural fall event is a celebratio­n of Lowcountry cooking. Taste dishes by 15 of Atlanta’s top chefs, sip beer or cocktails and kick back to live music. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Giving Kitchen and the 4/5 Academy at Fifth Avenue in Oakhurst.

Chinese pop-up restaurant

Tap chef Tyler Williams is playing host to pop-up Big Wong’s Chinese Restaurant. Enjoy a la carte dishes such as dungeness crab rangoon, duck egg drop soup, tangerine chicken, phoenix and dragon, and sweet and sour pork belly along with warm and cold sake and other drink specials.

Afternoon in the Country

Atlanta Les Dames d’Escoffier Internatio­nal’s 16th annual Afternoon in the Country will feature an extensive roster of chefs from Atlanta’s premiere restaurant­s and caterers, paired with the area’s best farms, fine wines, premium micro-brews and more.

Cocktails and Castoffs

Support Atlanta-based nonprofit Developmen­t in Gardening in its quest to end global food waste and food loss. DIG’s annual fundraiser will feature tastings by some of Atlanta’s most notable chefs, signature cocktails, and a wine and beer bar.

Legends of Atlanta Roast

Watch Atlanta restaurant bigwigs Ford Fry, Kevin Gillespie and Linton Hopkins get “roasted” at this fundraiser to benefit Atlanta Community Food Bank. A ticket includes a cocktail reception followed by a three-course dinner. Star 94.1 radio personalit­ies Jeff Dauler and Jenn Hobby will serve as emcees.
